CONTRACTORS working on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council are about to begin safety improvement work on the B1040 Ramsey Road – on a stretch known as ‘Pelican Bends.’

The road will be resurfaced to improve its skid resistance, new road studs will be installed and white lines re-painted. The work costing around £36,000 is expected to take three days from Monday, November 7.

The road will be kept open throughout the improvement work with the traffic controlled through the work site by a convoy system.

Disruption will be kept to a minimum, but drivers are being asked to find an alternative route or to allow extra time for their journey.
