March Royal British Legion Club is celebrating its 65th birthday this month and to mark the occasion is holding a special day of activities.
The event on Saturday August 24 starts off with a Commemorative Service with Standards conducted by the Rev Michael Jones from 11.30am. There will be a tree planting and there will also be a flypast by a Dakota (weather permitting) and lots of activities for children including a Punch and Judy show, balloon modelling and a bouncy castle.
And at 6pm George Jupp will cut a birthday cake and visitors can enjoy a glass of champagne and the grand draw will take place at 8pm with entrants having a chance to win prizes including £250 first prize.
The club was started in 1947 when a group of March residents bought the building in Rookswood and carried out repairs and alterations before the club was officially opened in August 1948.
