FENLAND employees of Cambridgeshire County Council have been rewarded for their long service at a special ceremony at Shire Hall.

Four members of staff were presented with Long Service Awards after each completing 25 years or more with the authority.

The four were: Pam Clark, former head of Clarkson Infants School, Wisbech; Linda Hobley, from the Orchards School, Wisbech; Marily Simpson, caretaker at Cavalry School, March and Nicky Baker acting head at Alderman Jacobs in Whittlesey.

All work or have worked in schools in the Fenland area.

They were joined by a further 18 long-serving members of staff from other parts of the county, who were presented with their awards by County Council Vice-Chairman Kevin Reynolds, Service Director for Learning Gayle Gorman and Head of Standards and Effectiveness for primary schools Sue Wilson.

Cllr Reynolds said: “Everyone receiving awards did so because of the outstanding contribution they have made to Cambridgeshire County Council and the many services it provides. I am delighted their loyal service and dedication has been recognised and I am very pleased to be a part of that. Congratulations to them all.”
