Cambridgeshire folk are being reminded to head to a country club in the county this month (April, 2013) for a St George’s Day celebration with a difference.
Tydd St Giles Golf & Country Club is inviting anyone called George to visit on April 23 to have as many Georges as possible in one place at one time.
Adrian Hurst, Managing Director of Tydd St Giles Golf & Country Club near Wisbech, explained: “We are inviting people who have the first name George to the clubhouse anytime during opening hours on St George’s Day and if they bring proof of their name such as a passport or picture driving licence we will give them a free cup of tea or coffee on the house.
“Ladies with the name Georgina or Georgia will also be entitled to a free drink. Georges who bring in a dragon as well will be entered into a prize-draw to win a bottle of bubbly at the end of the day.”
