This week we continue our theme of spotlighting the very best that the Caribbean has to offer...
Best for.. Romance
The Caribbean has lots of lovely intimate boltholes, where rooms come with lots of privacy in tropical grounds or on the beach front.
South western St Lucia excels in romantic hideaways. The most dramatically sited is hilltop Jade Mountain, where vast sanctuaries (bedrooms) have astonishing views over the Pitons.
Escape to St Vincent or the Grenadines’ private resorts, such as Petit St Vincent, a beautiful resort fringed with white sandy beaches and beautiful cottages, with no disturbances.
Little Arches in Barbados is great for young couples who like a small scale set-up – just 10 bedrooms. You’re very much mingling with the locals in a small fishing village.
Jamaica has lots of properties for those watching their budget, with beautiful beaches on the south-west coasts.
Best for... Family
You can quite easily rent a house or private villa that have a butler and housekeeper. This is a great option which we can offer you.
Or, likewise, we deal with suppliers who offer self-catering options on a hotel complex with sports facilities, children’s clubs and restaurants.
Beaches all inclusive in Turks & Caicos is a great full-on family–orientated accommodation. On spectacular Grace Bay beach it offers amazing fun facilities, including a pirate-themed water park.
Antigua’s Nonsuch Bay offers everything for families with a penchant for water sports, including kite surfing. This accommodation has apartments and villas with fully-equipped kitchens.
Barbados and St Lucia are other islands offering great family facilities.
Best for.... Indulgence
Head for Barbados St Bart or Anguilla for the best restaurants. For partying try Jamaica and Havana. St Lucia and Barbados offer great street parties with vendors selling cheap local dishes and potent cocktails – you may like to make your trip when there is a carnival.
St Barts (Eden Rock) is for those of us who enjoy gourmet dining, stylish living and ultra-cool beach clubs.
Again Barbados and Jamaica offer great opportunities for those on a budget who still want to indulge and party. Super restaurants with local dishes that are fabulous and will not break the bank!
