Leverington Academy was celebrating on Friday when local MP Steve Barclay popped in to present an Arts Council Gold Mark.
The school has previously achieved the Silver Mark for arts but staff member Elaine Aldrich said they were now delighted to have hit the top and been awarded gold.
To receive the accolade the school has to provide evidence that pupils have undertaken work in all types of creative media from acting to sewing.
The school has recently purchased a kiln allowing children to enjoy clay work.
Teaching Assistant with responsibility for art, Rachel Ashby, has been working with the school to help it achieve the Gold Mark, which was awarded following an assessment by the arts council.
She is currently studying for a degree and used her knowledge of arts to help children enjoy the various mediums.
