Science focus for Nelson Academy students

Nelson Academy pupils are ahead of the curve when it comes to health and safety, after a week of fun-filled activities.

Health and safety science experiments taught 24 youngsters all about germs and the importance of washing your hands when they visited Downham Market Academy for a day organised by the Academy’s students.

Megan Abbott, science subject leader at Nelson Academy, said: “The children have had a fantastic opportunity to use new resources and develop their scientific enquiry skills. They have benefitted from being around the older students who have been brilliant role models and inspired the children immensely.”

Rose Cornelius, head of science at Downham Market Academy, said: “Both groups of students thoroughly engaged with each other and they were a pleasure to work with.”
