Science sessions to continue in former Argos building in Wisbech Horsefair Shopping Centre

The Cambridge Science Centre is set to continue the popular "STEM in the Fens" project in Wisbech.

After an enthusiastic response earlier this year, the centre is set to return to the town this month to resume the project.

Operating from the former Argos unit at Horsefair Shopping Centre, the centre will continue offering free, curriculum-based workshops and engaging, hands-on STEM exhibits through 2025.

This year’s focus has been on deepening engagement with local schools and community groups across Wisbech and nearby areas, including March and Chatteris.

Project delivery lead Joanne Staines said: “We’re thrilled to bring Cambridge Science Centre back to Wisbech following a fantastic spring season. Starting this month, we’ll be open every Tuesday and Friday for school and community group visits.

“Interested groups can contact schools@cambridgesciencecentre.org to book sessions. Also, for the remainder of this year, we are very pleased to offer schools the opportunity to request free transport to and from their school to our Centre.”

This project is funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.

From January 2025, please visit our website, www.cambridgesciencecentre.org or check the Wisbech Centre notice boards for updates on the centre’s expanded offerings and new programming.
