Shooting and dog displays at Upwell Summer Fayre

Dog displays and a shooting gallery are all part of the fun on offer in Upwell this weekend.

Upwell Playing Field Committee will once again be running its annual summer fayre on Sunday to help raise money to finish off its pavilion project.

The committee needs to raise £25,000 to finish off the building and provide changing rooms for the village’s sports teams.

A host of historic vehicles will be on display on the field during the event, which will open at 11am and end at 4pm.

Youngsters will also be able to have fun on the barrel land train along with a number of rides and games, including Fly on the Wall and inflatable football.

Gator tractors will also be there.

A big attraction on the day will be a shooting gallery, which will be run by Target Norfolk.

Willow Kelly and her dog display team, which has previously appeared at Crufts, will also be delighting the crowds on the day.

The Bowls Club will also be opening its bar and offering visitors the chance to have a go at green bowls.

Other attractions on the day include a barbecue and a number of craft stalls for visitors to browse.

Money raised from the raffle will go towards the building project.

Committee chairman Christine Aston is hoping the area will turn out to support the event.

She said: “I would like to encourage people to come along and have fun.

“It is a traditional family fun day but will also be raising funds for the pavilion project at the same time.”
