A “silly” Wisbech man has appeared in court for drunken swearing.

Jesse Verrier, 20, of Elm Road, and Joel Nicol, 22, of St Benets Grove, South Wootton, were seen shouting and swearing in Norfolk Street, King’s Lynn, by police.

Verrier admitted being drunk and disorderly during the early hours of January 17.

Speaking at Thursday’s hearing in West Norfolk Magistrates Court, Verrier said: “I was drunk and silly really. I should not have been swearing but regretted that.”

He was given a 12 months conditional discharge. Verrier was ordered to pay £100 costs.

Nicol, who also admitted being drunk and disorderly, was also given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 costs.
