Spring fling at Wisbech Grammar School

Partying pensioners were treated to a slice of the 1940s at Wisbech Grammar School.

The school’s jazz band conjured up everything from big band numbers to hits from the 1990s as nearly 50 elderly people and carers from day centres and residential homes in Wisbech enjoyed a Spring Fling, now in its fifth year.

It included a game of bingo and a raffle and 26 members of the sixth form helped with serving cakes and scones baked by fellow pupils, as well as acting as hosts. Organiser Miss Louise Kemp said: “It was wonderfully successful. Pupils and guests enjoyed spending an afternoon together and being treated to a range of entertainment.”
