Support for Estover Playing Field in March continued on Sunday with a ‘pick-a-straw’ stall at the town’s St George’s Fayre.
Sue Clenshaw, of the Estover Playing Field Association, who ran the stall said people were very supportive and over £500 was raised.
She thanked everyone who donated prizes as well as those who visited the stall to have a go and to make donations towards the upkeep of the field.
She said: “It is very re-assuring that so many people wish to see Estover playing field to continue being open to the public. Local group Monkeys Uncle has offered an evening of entertainment and we are in the process of looking for a function hall. Provisionally planned for June 2. Estover is also planning to take part in The Big Lunch open to residents of Estover Road and friends of Estover. For information ring 01354 653540.”
