Students of Neale Wade Academy raised a fantastic £944.78 for the Afghanistan Trust by organising a non-uniform day.

The Afghanistan Trust, a registered charity, helps soldiers of the Parachute Regiment who have been wounded in Afghanistan, or the families of those killed as a consequence.

To date, the regiment has suffered some 31 killed but just as significantly, there are over 200 who were extensively wounded and have had to leave the service.

Principal Jason Wing said he was delighted the Academy could support such a worthy cause. He has had the privilege of working with members of the Parachute Regiment both in a personal and professional setting.

Jason Wing is photographed presenting the cheque to the Afghanistan Trust’s local representative, David Graham, who urged everyone to visit the charity’s website at to see what the charity is doing to support our soldiers and their families.
