MORE than 400 children attended an event intended to raise their career aspirations.
The Primary Schools’ Careers Convention was organised by the Wisbech Schools’ Partnership.
They were very pleased to receive funding from the Roddons Community Fund which enabled them to put on this event in the Queen Mary Centre.
This enabled around 440 Year 6 pupils from schools around the area to gather careers information and think about what they might like to do in their future.
It was hoped that the information received by the children on the day would combine with the careers education work undertaken in the classrooms and potentially “open a window” to the rest of their lives – raising their aspirations and spurring them to achieve and develop their career ideas.
Eighteen local and national employers were present at the event.
