Bright sunshine and soaring temperatures helped make Manea’s annual gala a sizzling success on Saturday.
Thousands of people flocked to the playing field to enjoy an array of stalls, attractions and entertainment after watching the parade of floats.
This year the winning float went to Manea School’s The Only Way is Manea, which carried the Gala Queen, Prince and Princesses with the school’s We are the World float runners-up and the Snap Me Pretty’s float in third place. MP Stephen Barclay chose the winners before presenting the prizes before heading off to the playing field to officially open the main event.
Charlotte Tweed had the honour of being Gala Queen with Toby Powell as the Head Prince.
Organisers were delighted with the event’s success and believe Saturday’s good weather helped attract one of the largest crowds for many years.
Entertainment included a birds of prey display and one of the highlights was a fly-past by a Spitfire fighter plane.
