ANIMAL lovers in Cambridgeshire are being urged to show their support and take part in two fundraising events at the RSPCA Block Fen Animal Centre later this month.
The first event is a teddy bear’s picnic with a twist on Sunday 16 September from 11am until 3.30pm.
The picnic is to help launch the RSPCA’s Rabbit Awareness Week. Visitors will be able to come along and take part in the picnic and find out more about how to care for rabbits.
As well as the picnic, there will also be a number of other fun events on the day, including planting rabbit-friendly plants, making toys and there will also be a rabbit quiz where visitors can test their knowledge.
Kirstyn Gaunt, deputy manager at the centre in Wimblington, said: “There will be lots of useful information available through the day on everything rabbits and our staff will be on hand to answer any questions people have about caring for their bunnies.
“Entry is free although there will be a small charge for some of the activities, and we would ask that people bring along their own picnic.”
Also on the events calendar at the centre are plans for a Pooch Mooch on Sunday 23 September.
The walk will start and finish at the centre, all the pooches who take part will receive a goody bag and a certificate on completion.
Entry costs £5 per dog, or people can pick up a sponsorship form from the centre.
The walk will begin at 11am and the last walk will be at 2pm.
Any dogs taking part in the event must be fully vaccinated.
