Sutton Bridge WI appealing for wool
Women’s Institute members in Sutton Bridge are appealing for donations of wool, fabric and needles so they can make baby blankets for a hospital.
Members of the Bridge Buns and Roses have started learning to knit and decided they want to put their new-found skills to good use by making items for the neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The cause is a dear one to many members, including president Jane Wilkinson, whose own son Russell was looked after at the NICU after being born prematurely at 35 weeks.
“As a group we’ve started learning to knit and a lot of us are going to keep it up.
“The hospital is such a good cause, so if anyone is able to donate any wool, fabric or knitting needles to help us, then that would be great,” said Jane.
* Anyone who can help with can either drop items off at the Curlew Centre, where the group meets, or contact Jane on 07879 898165 and she will arrange for their collection.
