Women’s Institute members in Sutton Bridge are appealing for donations of wool, fabric and needles so they can make baby blankets for a hospital.

Members of the Bridge Buns and Roses have started learning to knit and decided they want to put their new-found skills to good use by making items for the neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The cause is a dear one to many members, including president Jane Wilkinson, whose son Russell was looked after at the NICU after being born prematurely at 35 weeks.

“The hospital is such a good cause, so if anyone is able to donate any wool, fabric or knitting needles to help us, then that would be great,” said Jane.

l Anyone who can help can either drop items off at the Curlew Centre or contact Jane on 07879 898165.
