WISBECH youngster Ellie Broomfield was jumping for joy at Huntingdon Racecourse after she won first prize in a competition to draw the racing silks of a jockey.

The 12-year-old’s design for a rider’s jacket included a combination of blue and yellow with red spots.

The design was made by silks maker Allertons, and Ellie was presented with them at the National Hunt racecourse’s Halloween family day on Sunday.

Ellie said she started designing the colours by choosing her favourite colour yellow - and then she picked other colours that went with that.
