Three women from Norfolk have been arrested by police following an illegal rave in south Lincolnshire late last night, in which three officers and a dog were injured.

The women, aged 18, 20 and 21 respectively, were detained after officers were attacked by a crowd attending the gathering at Twyford Woods, near Bourne.

However, Lincolnshire Police has so far refused to give further details where the women are from. A man was also arrested during the incident, though no further detail has been released.

Police say they were called to the area at around 11pm on Saturday following reports of loud noise and anti-social behaviour.

They estimate around 1,000 people were present, of whom around a fifth attacked officers when they arrived.

Three officers were injured, one of them seriously, along with a police dog.

Power generators and sound equipment were seized and the nearby A1 was closed for a time because of safety concerns.
