FENLAND RAMBLERS are urging people to get walking in the New Year.
It might still be frosty outside but with the right clothing there is plenty of exploring to be done.
The Ramblers invite you to join them on the following walks.
January 15 meet at Church Terrace car park in Wisbech at 9.15am for car sharing or at Shouldham Warren car park, off Warren Road north of Shouldham village at 10am. Walk through Shouldham Warren, Wormegay and West Briggs. 9km (5½ miles). Contact Brian on 01354-677537.
January 22 meet at Church Terrace car park, Wisbech, at 9.15am or at the bridleway off Mill Drove, near Priory Farm, SE of Blackborough End, map/grid ref: 236/TF672142 at 10am. Walk to East Winch, returning through West Bilney Woods. 10km (6½ miles). Same contact as above.
January 29 meet at Church Terrace car park, Wisbech, at 9am or at the parking area at playing field off Chapel Road in Roydon, map/grid ref 250/TF701228 at 10am to walk through Roydon Common. 10km (6 miles). Contact Graham 01945-587374.
All of the walks are free and open to everyone to attend.
Simon Barnett, Head of Walking Programmes and Promotions at the Ramblers said: “Every year we make promises to ourselves to try and set the tone for a successful year ahead. The best advice the Ramblers can give is to take up walking as your number one resolution in 2012.”
