Tip off leads to £250K drugs find in Wisbech

Police have launched an investigation after cannabis worth almost a quarter of a million pounds was found at a house in Wisbech.

Members of the Fenland neighbourhood policing team discovered the drugs following a tip off about a potential cannabis factory in factory in Barton Road.

The visited the property on Wednesday afternoon and found the cannabis which is worth in the region of £245,000.

A spokesperson for the police said: "The £245,000 worth of cannabis was discovered at a house in Barton Road, Wisbech, by the local neighbourhood team after receiving information about the potential grow.

"Unfortunately no one was home, however an investigation has begun and enquiries are ongoing"
