Tracy decided to join Slimming World because she had high blood pressure, and was feeling uncomfortable and longed to be able to buy clothes that she really wanted. She dropped from a size 20 to a size 8.

She says: “Like most people, I’d tried to lose weight countless times, yet nothing ever really seemed to stick. Slimming World was completely different because it was just so simple. I could still enjoy hearty, home-cooked meals with my family while losing weight, which seemed like a miracle at the time. "Previous weight-loss attempts left me feeling hungry and irritable – nowadays I probably eat more than ever. Slimming World isn’t a diet, it’s a way of life.

“With Slimming World the support that I needed was there right from day one, both from my consultant Tina Rust and the other members in the group. I picked up new ideas and recipes every week – I still do now, in fact – and I started to really believe that I could do it. And I did, because five years later I’m still at my target weight.”

Tracy began following Slimming World’s Food Optimising eating plan, which encourages slimmers to fill up on healthy, satisfying foods like fruit and veg, pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat and fish so they lose weight without going hungry or feeling deprived. She says: “I’m really adventurous in the kitchen now and I’ve passed lots of healthy habits on to my family and friends too.”

As the weight came off she decided to try increasing her activity levels by walking her dogs further and joining various exercise classes as well as running.

Since reaching her target weight in 2011 Tracy has continued to attend the Monday Slimming World group and believes without their unwavering support she would have struggled to keep the weight off.

Tracy said: “I’ve made so many friends that I can’t imagine not going to the group each week – I enjoy the support in group and hearing all the ideas and recipes, and I love that I can inspire others each week."

Tina who runs the Rosmini Slimming group which Tracy attends, said: “I’m so proud of Tracy and the inspirational way in which she’s maintained her weight loss. It’s always great for new members to meet Tracy and see just what’s possible at Slimming World – after we’ve explained why someone so slim is in the group in the first place, that is."

Tracy’s group win puts her in the running for the national title of Slimming World Diamond Member 2018. The overall winner, chosen from one of Slimming World’s 18,000 groups across the UK and Ireland, will take home £2,000 and be announced in the her Tina on 07904085706 or visit www.slimmingworld.co.uk
