Two men arrested at Long Sutton filling station on suspicion of possessing imitation firearm
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of possessing weapons.
A 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm, a knife or bladed article, and a controlled drug of class B yesterday (January 15).
The items had been found after officers had stopped a car at The Chase Filling Station in Long Sutton, after it had been seen driving erratically.
The two men remain in police custody.
A force spokesman said: “An officer on routine patrols in the Long Sutton area noticed a vehicle which was being driven erratically and subsequently stopped the car at a garage in The Chase in Long Sutton to speak with the driver.
“He engaged with two people in a vehicle and as a result of searches, a 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession of imitation firearm in a public place, possession of a knife or bladed article, and possession of a controlled drug of class B.
“They remain in police custody where they will be questioned by detectives.”
