UPDATE: Drivers urged to avoid centre of King’s Lynn following serious crash

Motorists are being urged to avoid the centre of Lynn this lunchtime after a serious collision involving a car and a bicycle.

Emergency crews were called to the incident, which happened close to the junction of Railway Road and Albion Street at around 11.10am today.

An air ambulance landed in the bus station at around 11.45am. The helicopter left the area shortly after 12.30pm.

Railway Road has been partially re-opened, though police are warning drivers to continue to expect disruption.

In an earlier Twitter post, Lynn police officer PC Oliver Gilder said: “Serious RTC on Railway Road, Kings Lynn. Please avoid town and expect long delays throughout the area.”

Bus routes have also been severely disrupted with no vehicles able to get in or out of the bus station while the air ambulance landed.

Although services have now resumed from the interchange, operators have warned they are still experiencing severe delays.
