UPDATE TUESDAY 9.40AM: Third man arrested in connection with Long Sutton firearms case

A 22-year-old man from Long Sutton has been arrested in connection with reports of a weapon being fired at a house in Long Sutton at the weekend.

It is the third arrest made by police since a firearms unit was called to reports of a weapon having been fired at a house in Anfield Road on Sunday night.

A 25-year-old man arrested nearby on Sunday and a 21-year-old man arrested in Holbeach yesterday afternoon have been released on police bail until a date in April while the investigation continues.

MONDAY 2.30PM: Second man arrested after weapon fired at house in Long Sutton

Police have arrested a second man in connection with reports of a weapon having been fired at a house in Long Sutton on Sunday night.

A 21 year-old man was arrested in Holbeach this afternoon and has been taken into custody for questioning by detectives.

Last night, a 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with same incident which was attended by a police firearms team after reports of a gunshot at a house in Anfield Road.

Nobody was injured but a window at the house was damaged.

MONDAY 12.30PM: Man arrested after weapon fired and manhunt in Long Sutton

A 25-year-old man has been arrested after reports of a weapon being fired at a house in Long Sutton on Sunday night.

It happened at a house in Anfield Road where a firearms unit were called to and a window at the house was damaged.

A car which then drove away from the area failed to stop for police before the driver and passengers got out and ran off.

Police used a helicopter to assist officers who gave chase and caught a man from the area.

Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident number 344 of January 10.
