Upwell fayre hit by rain

Heavy rain storms did not dampen spirits at a Fenland summer fayre over the weekend.

Upwell Playing Field Committee had laid on a host of entertainment on Sunday in a bid to raise money for their pavillion project.

Unfortunately rain had poured down on the day and put off the crowds but organisers carried on.

Norfolk Target Shooting went along with their gallery while Evenstar put on a dog display.

The barrel train went along to give youngsters rides plus there were a number of stalls.

Committee chairman Ros Shorting said: “We carried on until about 3pm .

“The weather put a lot of people off.

“It is just one of those things.”
