Upwell hall boosted as dozens open yards for fundraising sale
Dozens of villagers took part in a yard sale to help with the upkeep of their community hall at the weekend.
A total of 73 Upwell households took part in the event on Sunday, which raised £527 for the building.
The event was organised by the Upwell Hall committee, who were thrilled with the turnout.
Secretary Ros Shorting said: “We had a fantastic turnout for Upwell’s second yard sale.
“Led by Brian and Linda Carr, parishioners paid £5 to open their yards all around the village from Small Lode, Townsend Road, Croft Road, St Peters Road and School Road to name just a few of the roads that took part.”
Visitors enjoyed refreshments at Upwell Hall, where they could pick up maps before exploring the sales around the village.
