Volunteering at the Angles

THE Angles Theatre at Wisbech - which has been at the heart of the community since 1978 - is searching for volunteers to help fulfil aims of developing the range of activities, productions and services offered to adults and young people.

As a community semi-professional theatre, the Angles has always relied on local government support, audiences, enthusiastic performers and most of all passionate and dedicated volunteers.

Now more volunteers are needed. It doesn’t matter how much time you have to give - even a few hours can help in a variety of ways. People are needed to help maintain the listed Victorian and Georgian buildings; do some gardening, painting and decorating; man the bar during performance evenings; provide catering for social functions; make scenery and props; make costumes; maintain our paint, scenery and costume stores; provide professional front of house services; distribute leaflets and many more roles.

“We are an ambitious and progressive theatre and there are a lot of exciting projects you can get involved with,” a press statement said.

Some of these include: developing and expanding the newly-formed RATzcool musical theatre school to enable more young people to enjoy the opportunities to perform; developing the award-winning RATz in-house performance company, to offer more plays and comedies; development of the Georgian RATz programme to perform Georgian plays; providing more opportunities for young people to learn through the school theatre programme RATz-out!

To find out more the Angles is holding a social evening on June 2 at 7.30pm at the theatre. See the website www.anglestheatre.com
