A 27-year-old from Walpole St Andrew has been charged with drug offences following an illegal rave in Aldeby, near Beccles, over the weekend.

Luke Bills, of Station Road South, has been charged with three counts of drug possession in relation to cocaine, mephedrone and cannabis.

Bills has been released on bail to appear before Norwich Magistrates court on Tuesday, August 25.

Police from Norfolk and Suffolk were called to the site in Stanley Hills shortly before midnight on Saturday.

Up to 500 people were thought to be at the rave, but this later reduced to 250.

Officers blocked off access points and closed the event at around 3.30am when speakers, turntables and four vehicles were seized.
