A young husband and father tragically lost his life on Saturday.
Daniel Moden (29) died after his grey Citroen Picasso was in collision with a tractor on the A1101 Bates Drove at Welney.
The news saddened many people across Fenland, who took to social media to express their shock at the news and share their memories of dad Daniel.
“Daniel you are a fantastic person and will always have a place in our hearts,” one friend said. “Why is it always the good ones are taken?” another person wrote.
Family member Victoria Moden wrote on the ‘R.I.P. Daniel Moden’ Facebook page: “Thank you all for your support. It means so much to us as a family to know Daniel had touched so many people’s hearts. He was a great man and always will be. We love him so much. Will always be in our hearts.”
Daniel, who lived at Main Road, Welney, married his wife Kelly last year and they have a son called Tyler. His parents, John and Sue Moden, live in March. The family were too upset to speak to the Citizen.
The Magpas Helimedix air ambulance was called out to the crash but despite the best efforts of the medical personnel, Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered a “traumatic cardiac arrest”.
The road was closed for four hours while police and the fire service worked to free Daniel. The sympathies of the emergency services were passed on to Daniel’s family.
