Solicitors Metcalfe Copeman & Pettefar, who have offices in Lynn and Wisbech, have thanked everyone who supported the Will Aid campaign in November.

This year the firm, which also has offices in Thetford and Peterborough, raised a total of £3,950 thanks to clients’ donations, bringing its five-year total to £25,796.

The firm volunteered its time and skills to write wills.

Simon Scott, partner in charge of the wills and probate department, said: “It was exceptionally hard work to see many clients in such a short space of time and it meant working long hours, but it was worth it.

“We are delighted to have raised so much money for the Will Aid charities.

“Our clients were impressed with the amount we raised, too, and our fundraising success is a testament to the generosity of those people who came forward to have their will written under the scheme during November and we would like to thank them all.”

Will Aid is the UK’s leading charity will-writing scheme. Solicitors who join offer their time and expertise free to give everyone the opportunity to make or update their basic will in return for a donation to help people in need in the UK and all over the world.

This money is shared by nine well-known UK charities – ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).

The solicitor who draws up wills at the Wisbech office is Sophie Putterill.
