Wisbech children taking part in Second World War play
Wisbech youngsters are joining with schools across the world to stage a musical to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
Thomas Clarkson Academy is hoping that people from across town and neighbouring villages come along to watch the Secret Code, which it is staging at its Act Theatre on Thursday, July 16, and Friday, July 17.
The musical tells the story of evacuees who discover a secret German code and save Great Britain from invasion.
It is being performed by school drama groups and societies across the UK, America and Canada to mark the end of the war in 1945.
Head of Drama at Thomas Clarkson Academy Julie Wilcox said: “The Secret Code is a wonderful sing and dance show with a high energy feel. It will appeal to an older generation but is also great for introducing a younger generation to the Second World War era.”
Advance tickets cost £4 and tickets bought on the night cost £5. Tickets can be pre bought from the reception at Thomas Clarkson Academy in Corporation Road, Wisbech. The show starts at 7pm.
