Wisbech college students have raised £929.14 for a cancer charity.

Hairdressing, beauty therapy and nail technology departments at the College of West Anglia supported the Look Good, Feel Better charity’s Give the Sparkle Back week.

The charity provides practical support for women struggling with the side-effects of cancer treatment.

The charity, which has been running for more than 20 years, provides free skincare and make-up workshops, which are held in over 70 hospitals and cancer care centres throughout the UK.

Activities held at the Wisbech and Lynn sites, included hair styling, manicures, nail art, beauty treatments and leg waxing.

Curriculum support manager for hair and beauty, Jannette Cook, is delighted with the students’ support for the charity.

She said: “The staff and students really got behind the event and their generosity has been overwhelming.”
