Wisbech couple celebrate an incredible 70 years of wedded bliss
She says they are as in love today as they were the day they married 70 years ago - and he still kisses her three or four times a day to prove it.
Now June and Frank Hammond are planning to mark the incredible landmark anniversary on Wednesday (22) quietly having enjoyed a big get together for a special meal with their family on yesterday (Saturday) evening.
The couple, who originate from Bedworth near Coventry, met at a dance at the local ballroom when June was just 17 and Frank swept in to teach her to dance.
They were married two years later at the Baptist Chapel in Bedworth where they spent the early days of their marriage.
However, work later brought Frank, a manufacturing engineer, to Thetford where they lived for a number of years before a new job once again saw the pair move - this time coming to Wisbech where they have lived for the past 25 years.
Frank worked for Murfitts when he first moved to the town but later went on to Spillers and then finally joining Metalbox where he worked for 15 years before his retirement.
June worked as an auxilliary nurse at the former Clarkson Hospital, where patients went when they were discharged from the North Cambs Hospital but still needed to fully recuperate.
Their hobbies included caravanning both here and abroad, sadly those days are now behind them but they still enjoy days out walking.
They also enjoy tending their garden together.
The couple have two sons Michael and David who both live with their families in Wisbech. There are four grandchildren and six great grandchildren to help keep Frank, 93, and June, 89, on their toes.
They were joined by all the family for the celebration at the Elmtree on Saturday night.
June said the secret to their long and happy marriage is to always make sure you never go to bed on an argument while Frank suggested: "If you do have an argument always make sure it ends in a draw."
June added: "We have had a long and very happy marriage. I can honestly say we are as in love today as we were when we got married. He still kisses me three or four times a day - which is lovely. We have been very lucky."
