Plans to create an enterprise park on the outskirts of Wisbech were given the green light from Fenland District Council.

Members of the authority’s planning committee backed the concept of creating a business and residential park on 217 acres of land in south Wisbech during a meeting last Wednesday.

The project could create nearly 2,000 jobs along with building 350 homes on sites which run between the River Nene and Elm Low Road.

Councillors also agreed to grant planning permission to build a two-storey office and single-storey warehouse building on land which is east of Cromwell Road in Wisbech during the meeting.

The application was lodged by H L Hutchinson Ltd, which is based in Weasenham Lane.
