A fight between Lithuanian and Polish men in Wisbech landed one of them in court.
Andrius Vaitkus appeared before King’s Lynn magistrates following the altercation between himself and three other men in Norfolk Street.
Prosecuting, Susanna Chowdhury said CCTV cameras caught Lithuanian Vaitus and his friend having an row with a Polish man and another man on January 3.
She said Vaitkus’ friend punched the Polish man, and then Vaitkus got involved.
“He struck him twice to the head and body. CCTV operators called police and they were arrested.”
Roger Glazebrook, for Vaitkus, said the Polish man did not want to press charges.He also said Vaitkus did not punch the man, but the wall behind him.
Vaitkus, 24, of no fixed abode, appeared at court on Wednesday and admitted threatening behaviour and failing to attend court on January 19.
Miss Chowdhury told the court Vaitkus’ friend was given a police caution, but Vaitkus was charged as he already had cautions on his criminal record.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge for threatening behaviour, and fined £50 for failing to attend court. He was also ordered to pay £105 costs.
