A multicultural music workshop gave pupils at Wisbech Grammar School’s preparatory school a chance to try their hand at a string of exotic instruments.

During a visit by world music specialists ‘Earthsong’ the pupils at Magdalene House Preparatory School enjoyed hands-on experience of djembe goblet drums and kora harps from West Africa, as well as Indian sitars and Chinese harps. Director of music Marie Cunningham said: “The pupils listened to traditional stories and songs from many different cultures. We even started the Chinese new year celebrations with a dragon dance.” Sarah May Fraser and Benjamin Eden are pictured trying instruments. PHOTO: SUBMITTED
