A Wisbech headmaster will be ringing the bell for the final time later this year.

Chris Moxon will be leaving Magdalene School, Wisbech Grammar’s preparatory school, at the end of Trinity term after seven years in the role.

Mr Moxon will become headmaster of Moreton Hall, a co-education boarding school in Suffolk, and will be joined by his wife Alison, who has been appointed head of boarding.

He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my seven years as Head of Magdalene House and I’m not quite sure where that time has gone!

“I hope the extended family ethos that Alison and I have tried to bring to the school over the years has contributed towards the happy place it is today.

“My philosophy has always been child-centred and when I see the pupils bouncing into school in the morning with big smiles on their faces and then cramming themselves into my office to tell me their news, I know that all is well with the world! I shall be sad to leave this lovely school but I am excited by the new challenge.”

Wisbech Grammar School headmaster, Chris Staley, said: “I would like to thank Chris and Alison for their significant contribution to Magdalene House over the past seven years, in particular for their energy, enthusiasm and care during their time with us.”
