A man has suffered serious head injuries after being set upon by a gang of youths in Wisbech.
The 23-year-old was confronted by a group of about 10 teenagers in McColl’s car park off Ollard Avenue between 9pm and 9.30pm on Saturday (November 24).
The victim tried to run off, but was pushed to the floor where he was repeatedly punched and kicked to the head, face and body. He was knocked unconscious in the attack.
A concerned member of the public discovered him lying on the ground and called an ambulance. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
Detective Constable Rachel Pearce said: “This was a nasty, unprovoked attack where the victim was kicked in the head until he was unconscious.
“He suffered serious head injuries but it could have been even worse.
“It is likely people in the area will know who this group of youths are and I would urge them to call police.”
Anyone with any information should call DC Pearce on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
