The hard work put in by students to gain English qualifications has been honoured.

Thirteen of the 35 people who have undertaken courses with Celtrain, which is based in Wisbech, received their certificates from Wisbech mayor David Hodgson.

The students received English and maths functional skills certificates during a meeting of Wisbech Town Council. Some students completed the course in 12 weeks, while it has taken others a little longer. Tutor Wendy Garner, who offers a range of courses, said: “I would like to applaud them.” Students are pictured above with the mayor.
