Wisbech is getting ready to rock as the annual music festival is about to explode.

Wisbech Rock Festival is gearing up to be on the best yet with a fantastic line-up of eight bands.

The free festival will be roaring to life in Wisbech Park on Sunday from noon to 8pm.

Organisers of the event, Wisbech Town Council, are hoping to see large crowds of all ages enjoying the music.

Cllr Steve Tierney said: “We have been organising this for a number of years but I think this year is going to be outstanding.

“We have got such a good line-up. Every one of the bands is great in their own right and have a following of people.

“Local band Death Radio are very popular.

“This is also a family event. We do get a lot of young people coming down as it is such a fun atmosphere.

“We have a lot of people coming down with a picnic and camp out for the day.”

Last year the festival attracted 1,500 to 2,000 people to the park.

Headline act this year is two tone and ska band, Five Ska, which perform covers from the likes of Madness and the Specials.

Crowd favourites Kamikaze Hotshot, Gifford, Catch 22 and Rattleshack, will also be performing during the day.

Other acts include Lexie Green Death Radio and The Merlins.

The event will be hosted by professional comedian and compere Drew Cameron.

Fun fair rides will be set up on the field to entertain thrillseekers of all ages.

Visitors will also be able to browse the range of stalls along with tucking into meaty treats from the barbecue.
