Generous members of a church group have raised £1,015.97 to help those caught up in the refugee crisis in Europe.

Wisbech Churches Together launched a fundraising campaign to support Christian Aid and Help Calais.

Members organised a range of events, including carol concerts, along with a coffee morning.

The campaign was also supported by Wisbech Grammar School’s Magdalene House Preparatory School and Wisbech Interfaith Forum.

Matthew McChlery, Churches Together chairman, thanked all those who have organised and supported events to help those less fortunate.

He said: “I am sure the practical help this money will provide is deeply appreciated by those refugees it will assist.”
