Wisbech Society’s lecture on Edith Cavell

The story of brave nurse Edith Cavell will be the subject of a lecture in Wisbech tonight (Monday, January 11)

Wisbech Society trustee and retired GP Dr Eric Sommerville will be giving the talk in the Dwight Centre, Wisbech Grammar School, from 7.30pm.

Edith Cavell, who was born in Norfolk, shot by German firing squad in 1915 for helping injured Allied soldiers escape occupied Belgium.

Admission is free for society members. Non-members are invited to attend the lecture at an admission cost of £3.00, while under 18s are invited to come along for free.
