A Wisbech store’s premises licence is due to be reviewed on Thursday after alcohol was sold to underage teenagers.

Rima Stores, on Lynn Road, sold a bottle of wine to two 16-year-old girls in a test operation despite interventions and a previous review of the premises licence.

The initial review was carried out in 2012 after alcohol was sold to under 18s in two test purchases in 2011. The licence holder, Narendra Patel, agreed to conditions on the licence such as not selling single cans or bottles and installing CCTV.

Alcohol was not sold in two test purchases after this but then the wine was sold in September 2013. Sgt Dave Bax applied for the review and recommends revoking or suspended the licence.
