The cycling season took off with some powerful rides in the Wisbech Wheelers Open 10 mile TT on Sunday morning.
Team Velovelocity turned out in force and proved the strongest by far on the day. In the Solos, Daniel Bloy took first in 21.58 and Gavin Moore second with 22.22, Andrew Roffe of Team Salesengine was third in 22.38.
In the two-rider team event Velovelocity also took the honours with Paul Jay and veteran, Geoff Frost, in a winning time of 22.22.
Runners-up in a dead heat for second were Chris Southwell and Darren Roberts of Leigh Premier RC, along with Mick Wills and Alex Whitehead of Hinkley CRC, all on 22.31. Third team home were Ben Keeley and Gary Smith, also from Velovelocity in 23.46.
The ladies were led home by Sally Withey of VC Norwich in 27.06 with Wisbech riders Becky Hamilton and Lou Campion in second and third place with 29.03 and 30.10 respectively.
The best Wisbech rider was triathlete, Mat McClure, on 23.51 and the best Wisbech team were Stuart Emmett and Andrew Ward in 24.17.
Stuart Emmett turned round and jumped on his TT machine again for the Solo’s but tired legs told and he was just over a minute slower the second time around.
