Lynn Upchurch, who was in hospital at the time of the thefts, is hoping someone may have the vital information needed to return her cats, which were stolen from outside her home on South Brink, in Wisbech.

The felines are all family pets and Lynn was upset at the idea of being discharged from hospital today (Friday) to come home to a house without them.

Two of the cats were pure Burmese. Genevieve and Guinevere (Guin and Genna) were stolen three weeks ago while Lynn was in hospital and her husband Nick was at work.

The latest theft on Wednesday saw Guin's kittens, Pip, Solo and Simba taken along with two black and white cats, Frimpy and Rumpy.

Lynn who spoke to the Citizen, while waiting to be discharged from the Queen Elizabeth in King's Lynn said: "My neighbour noticed they weren't around when she popped in to check on them on Wednesday afternoon, they were then when she went earlier in the day. She didn't think too much of it because they are cats and they wander off. But they still weren't there on Thursday morning.

"The kittens are half Burmese and have Bengal and are very attached to the two black and white cats, which are just run of the mill moggies. We think they were taken so whoever stole them could get the kittens. They are six months old and were due to be neutered and chipped in January.

"They are all pets, we're not people who can afford pedigree cats and the Burmese ones were my birthday present. I gave two of Guin's kittens away because I wanted other people to enjoy owning these special cats and know not everyone can afford them. They are worth around £200 each even though they are not pure pedigrees.

"We still don't understand how whoever took them managed it. Genna is the most docile cat but whenever we try to put her in a carrier she goes ballistic and the others don't like it either.

"The police have been informed and we are just hoping someone knows something that will help us get them back. If you have been offered a kitten in the past few days then please get in touch with me on 07875199801 or call the police on 101."
