Drinking coffee has helped to raise hundreds of pounds for two good causes.

Wisbech Ladies Probus Club has raised a total of £728 during a series of coffee mornings, organised by outgoing president Carol Mann.

Mrs Mann presented a cheque for £300 to Magpas and a further £200 to Peter Clayton for a dementia project which will be starting at the Octavia Hill Birthplace House in Wisbech. The remainder went into club funds.

Mrs Mann also handed over the chains of office to new president Alison Schultz.

She said: “I have had a fantastic year in office. We have raised more money than we have ever raised before during the coffee mornings.”

The club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at The Woolpack in Terrington St John. Call Alma Walsh on 01945 410843.
