Through your columns, may I invite the thief who stole the Christmas lights from the tree at Centenary Green, Somers Road in Wisbech to make a donation to the appeal at www.octaviahill.org.
Centenary Green is a project to commemorate the centenary of the death of Octavia Hill, who was born nearby, and at the same time rescuing an eyesore in the centre of Wisbech. It is organised entirely by volunteers and funded by donations from community spirited people and organisations. We still have to raise almost £5000 to complete the project and cannot afford to have all the efforts undermined by such acts.
May I take this opportunity to thank all those who have helped so far and say that donations from anyone who would like to help the project, would also be much appreciated via the ‘Support us’ page on the www.octaviahill.org website.
