Trying to serve the community

NOT long ago, the owners of our local post office village shop at Emneth changed.

The new owners made an attempt to serve the village by opening their garage to sell fresh local produce, which was a great help to the elderly.

Why did the council object? The post office/shop have been told they could apply for planning permission but why should a small shop have to pay £300 plus which could be lost?
